Let me set up this study with two real-life scenarios: Scenario #1: I am sitting with a group of church planters in the Middle East discussing church planting strategy. We have talked for at least three hours about how to communicate the gospel in this difficult area of the world. But something is not sitting quite right with me. So I interject: “But what about the power of the Holy Spirit and a life of holiness and prayer for reaching this land?” The response? “Oh, of course . . . we all assume that.” Assume?
