(Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Program to your community starting this Fall. D.AR.E. is taught to Grade 6 students and consists of seventeen lessons taught over a seventeen week period during school hours. D.A.R.E. teaches the students the hazards of alcohol, tobacco and marijuana and how to resist the peer pressuré that can cause our youth to fall victim to these drugs. The students are also taught how to build up their self-esteem and confidence. At the end of the program, the students will attend a graduation ceremony where they will be presented with a Certificate of Achievement as well as a D.A.R.E. Graduate T-shirt. The Dare Program is not funded by the RCMP or the local schools. We are totally dependent upon local businesses and the general public for funding of this program. All monies raised are spent entirely on the students, for workbooks, name cards, grad t-shirts and certificates as well as other small incentives. All monies raised will stay within the community where the donation is made. Any donation that you are able to provide for this very worthwhile program will be greatly appreciated.
