The Ladies Chorus, directed by Mrs. Priscilla Brockway, sang a Church Service Marathon Sunday June 22nd when they performed in four Churches; Magrath Second Ward at 9:00 a.m.; Magrath First Ward at 11:30 a.m. Magrath Third Ward 2:30 p.m. and St. John's Lutheran Church at 7 p.m. They had their debut in the Magrath United Church the Sunday before on June 15th. The Chorus had it’s beginning as an Adult Education Class in the early Spring. Three denominations were represented among the singers gathered for the classes each ^.^suay evening and Mrs. Brockway* suggestion that they sing in the churches represented met with the unanimous approval of all the women. The last class was held Tues­day evening, June 24th. However the ladies will be singing at the Magrath Birthday Celebration program Classes will resume in the Fall. A Coffee Hour was held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. following which 8 flights of ladies took to the fairways. A buffet luncheon was held at 1:30 p.m. and prizes were awarded to the following: Helen Kirk for Low Net; Gladys Leishman - longest drive; Ann Campbell - nearest to pin; Saudi Allison - most points; Alma Whitt - hidden score. Golf Balls were presented to the following for most accumulated points in their respective flights: Helen Kirk, Elsie Brown, Ann Campbell, Winnie Ehlert, Jean House, Gerry Ripley, three­way tie between Alma Whitt, LaVon Thompson and Jesssolyn Anderson; and Margaret Me Pherson; Least number of strokes (No. 12) Kinko Hironaka. "Greenies" (No. 14) Bonnie Kennedy and Helen Kirk. Tuesday evening, June 24th, the Magrath Ladies Golf Club' held their closing League social. Some thirty ladies joined in a two ball foursome. A tasty lunch was enjoyed and prizes were awarded with the Mary Ann Hutton Team - Mary Ann, Kinko Hironaka, Marge Balderson, Vi Hillmer.and’ Jean House presented with trophies for the top team in the league. Their names will go on the Golf League plaque. Prizes were also awarded for Low Net and Low Gross to the ladies who claimed such scores for each individual night of League play.
