Add to ORKGWilliam Harvey was born on June 21, 1898 in Lethbridge, N.W.T. to parents William and Alice Harvey. He was raised on a farm near Kipp, Alberta with his brother, Fred. At time of enlistment, William was single and working on the family farm. On July 10, 1916, William Harvey enlisted with the 78th Battery CFA. Gunner Harvey arrived in England on March 15, 1917, and remained in England until embarking for France on July 12, 1917. After arriving in France, he was taken on strength by the 4th Brigade CFA. He would serve at the front for three months, seeing action on the muddy fields of Passchendaele. On October 26, 1917, Gunner Harvey was killed in action in Belgium.
