Champion started up the world’s largest paper machine for the second time in history January 31, 1947 at 10:45 P.M. with great success. In 1932, the No. 12 machine, installed in Canton, was the world's largest paper machine in operation. The No. 11 machine brought hundreds of jobs to Canton. In this photograph are the Jordans where pulp stock is refined passing between whirling knives which cut fibres to proper length and brush out the ends.
