Globalization and changes in the education system

Th e issue that is more or less current in all the areas of the globe, hence, an issuewith a planetary character, should not remain on the margins of interest to theBosnian intellectual or political elite. Th e public probably did not grasp theimportance of all processes in which it is directly or indirectly involved withouteven realizing it. Th e consequences of countless processes will be recognizableonly in ten years or more, yet they will, whether we like it or not, become apart of the social reality. By then it will be too late for major repairs if these andsimilar eff ects happen to be an obstacle to social development, hence, a timelyand high quality analytical and critical approach to all processes that havebecome a part of reality of the Bosnian society is necessary. Th e text that followsis too small a space for a quality and more thorough elaboration of this socialphenomenon and, therefore, I shall try to outline some important features regardingthe globalization processes and education, which, certainly, deserve andrequire more analytical space. Th e text will, therefore, justify its purpose if itsucceeds to arouse even a sporadic interest of those responsible for the social realityof Bosnia and Herzegovina. Th e relationship between globalization processesand education is multidimensional and in this way cannot be considered in allits comprehensiveness, thus the most important segments; economical, political,and informational-communicational changes will be determined. Th e Bolognaprocess will be mentioned, but also the changes in culture and tradition causedby the globalization processes
