Bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis) is one of the largest native wild ungulates in North America. It is a selective herbivore, feeding on forage with high nutrient values. The aim of this study was to evaluate the seasonal variation in the nutritional quality of the species consumed by bighorn sheep in the Sierra El Mechudo, BCS Mexico. Samples were collected in the four seasons of 2010 and 2011, and for the analyses we consider percentages of ash, crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), ether extract (EE), and in vitro digestibility of dry matter (IVDMD).
