O presente trabalho verificou a biologia reprodutiva do peixe Neotropical traíra, Hoplias malabaricus (Bloch, 1794). O estudo foi realizado no açude Marechal Dutra da bacia hidrográfica do rio Piranhas-Assu, Rio Grande do Norte, Brasil. As capturas dos peixes foram realizadas mensalmente de agosto/2015 a junho/2016. Os peixes foram identificados taxonomicamente, pesados, medidos e o sexo foi identificado. Os seguintes aspectos foram verificados: comprimento total, peso total, proporção sexual, tipo de crescimento, comprimento de primeira maturação sexual (L50), aspectos do desenvolvimento das gônadas, fator de condição (K) e índice gonadossomático (IGS). Foram capturados 141 exemplares de H. malabaricus e a proporção sexual foi de 1M:1,4F. ...
