This paper discusses a new online multilingual dictionary between Norwegian, Swedish and Danish aimed at young people, the NMO. It is dicussed w.r.t. lemma selection, types of definitions, and user interface. It is concluded that the dictionary fails to cover central lemmas, especially those coined as false friends and also those that are part of young people’s vocabulary. The definitions are given in unsystematic ways both as regards the different languages and as regards the individual headwords, where some are too general and some are too specific or describe peripheral meanings
