Add to ORKGAlice Lennon was a daughter of William Lennon, long time science professor at Brockport. She graduated from Brockport in 1891, and then attended Smith College, graduating in 1895. She taught science here from 1896-1904, at a time when there were not many women science instructors at all. She is pictured here in a year book that came out in 1899. Alice took a year off for further study at Cornell, and then moved to New York City, to work for the Y.W.C.A. in Harlem. Subsequently she moved on to teach at the Ruben Gap-Nacoochee School in Georgia, a school for the mountain people there.
