Abstract Deaf patients suffer from inferior health outcomes and have lower patient satisfaction than hearing patients, and much of the negative effects stem from a lack of access and true open communication with health care providers. Clinicians have many options for improving on the inclusion for the Deaf community with implementing education and readying strategies to increase meaningful participation. By building stronger patient-provider relationships with this subset of the patient population, healthcare providers can have a positive effect on the health outcomes for these patients
