The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) began its partnership with Co\u302te d\u2019Ivoire in 1987 by opening the Project Retrovirus Co\u302te d'Ivoire (Retro-CI) laboratory in collaboration with the Ivoirian health ministry. In 2004, this partnership expanded when the U.S. President\u2019s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) began providing services in Co\u302te d'Ivoire.CDC supports Co\u302te d\u2019Ivoire in reaching HIV epidemic control.
