International audienceThis survey intends to study the place and role of children (other than Astyanax) in the Iliad. Although children are rarely present as characters in the poem, they are often referred to in similes and in the description of Achilles' shield. These mentions convey an undeniable charm and allow the poet to introduce a break in the account of violent battles∞∞∞ ; they also introduce a sense of bitterness into the story and its heroic message, colouring the narration in a tragic way.Cette étude se propose d'analyser la place et la fonction qu'occupent les enfants (autres qu'Astyanax) dans l'Iliade.
