The story of deafs is characterized by clashes, defense, discussion and debate, through differents theoreticals conceptions of the struggle for the right to live as citizens in society and use the language that is convenient for them. To better understand these studies, it´s so important today, understand the diferents issues relating to deaf in Brasil. The bibliographical research allowed to present the main facts occurreds and contributions that theoretical and subject studyings have throughout during the history of deaf people. The results indicate that for a long time the signal was prohibited for the deaf, because he´s considered inferior and unable to live in society.
