This research was conducted from September to October 2016. This research aimed to collect data on the morphological characteristics of taro as initial information for the benefit of breeding programs. The research method was survey by purposive sampling. Data were analyzed descriptively. Statistical calculations for kinship analysis used the NTSYS program (Ver.2.02). Twenty accessions of both wild and cultivated taro were obtained from six villages. Narrow phenotypic variability was observed for qualitative characteristics whereas wide variability was observed for quantitative characteristics.
