The research question addressed in this capstone is, what tools and strategies can be used to create a class using popular culture to study United States History, while aligning the class with Minnesota\u27s United States History Standards?. The main focus of this study is to determine an appropriate definition for popular culture and what aspects of popular culture could be used to provide students with an opportunity to better understand U.S. History. This capstone is supported by research from Nachbar and Lause. Examples of popular culture used in the study are: music, literature, art, sports, heroes and movies.
