"Teika", one of the well-known Tosa Joruri works, has repeatedly been performed since the middle of Genroku period. The stage adaptation of "Teika" has a double-structure "Teika" as a major plot and "Shin-Dojoji" as a minor plot. The major plot deals with the love affairs of Teika and Shikishi-Naishinno, and the world of Dojoji, as the minor plot, was put into this major plot. "Teika" in Tosa Joruri has its predecessors, that is, "Teika" in Yokyoku (Noh music) and "Ogurayama-hyakunin-isshu" in Ko-Joruri. "Teika" in Tosa Joruri is closely related to "Ogurayama-hyakunin-isshu".
