The Rača Unit of the Magura Nappe in the Hostýn Hills is composed of siliciclastics ranging in age from Early Cretaceous to Early Oligocene. Depositional facial differentiation began at the Cretaceous - Paleogene boundary. The zones (Hostýn and Tří kamenů) differ in higher amount of biodetritus which is typical for the Hostýn Member while higher amount of biotite is typical for the Ráztoka Member. Heavy mineral suite is rich in ultrastable minerals in the Cretaceous sandstones and generally garnet-rich in the Paleogene ones. High contents of hornblende were found in a part of the Hostýn Member. The Rusava Member of the Zlín Formation represents sandy flysch with abundant conglomerates.
