This bronze plaque honoring Harold T. Andrews, Maine\u27s first soldier to perish in World War I is located in the Hall of Flags inside the Maine State House. The Maine State Legislature appropriated $2000 for the memorial. The Harold T. Andrews Memorial Commission included Col. Edward F. Anthoine of Portland, John Thomas of Portland, and Capt. John W.
