She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Malawi, Africa in 1963 and 1964, and a Physical Education teacher and Coach of the Women's Swimming and Gymnastic teams at Longmeadow High School from 1965 to 1969. She became a faculty member in Physical Education at SC in 1971. She was appointed as Distinguished Professor of Humanics of Springfield College in 1996
