This photograph shows Betty L. Mann, a faculty member at Springfield College, sitting at her desk. Betty Mann was the Assistant Professor of Physical Education and Director of the Division of Graduate Studies. She received her Bachelor's degree in education from North Adams State College in 1967, her masters in education from Springfield College and her doctorate in education in 1984. She was employed by the city of North Adams as a Physical Education Instructor since 1967, teaching at the elementary and junior high school levels. She also served as the Physical Education Curriculum Chairman for the North Adams school system. She coached basketball, softball, field hockey and volleyball. At Springfield, she taught a methods course in Physical Education and supervised pre-practicum students and student teachers
