This session examines the design, implementation and effectiveness of a teaching, learning and assessment strategy in a new specialist creative arts university. The strategy is designed to reflect the needs of both the institution and its individuals. Both academic and non-academic staff are engaged through a process of recognition of individuals’ achievement through varied activities. But embedding the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) is most effectively implemented by developing funded research activities: the scholarship of discovery that enables the institution to develop as a learning organization.
