The criticism of the object-fetish in museums has created an apparent dichotomy between the tangible and the intangible. This text aims to problematize the notion that nowadays museums should focus on ideas and experiences, leaving aside the collections that they treasured for years. It will seek to show that the object is inevitably tied to memory, emotions and the ability of visitors to have a meaningful museum experience.
