An Introduction to the Desert Sayings

Using an homiletic tone that mirrors the oral tradition of the Desert Sayings, this project provides an introduction to the apophthegmata for the contemporary reader. It surveys their historical background, suggests a disposition for interaction with the tradition, proposes a Law-Gospel orientation, and illustrates ten common motifs evident in the Sayings
