HUBUNGAN KECANDUAN SMARTPHONE DENGAN PRESTASI BELAJAR PADA MAHASISWA S1 KEPERAWATAN UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH MALANG

Background : Smartphone use has changed a person’s life and their daily habits. Popular activities on smartphone can be accessed easily. Students routinely use smartphone during learning even though there are rules that prohibit them and can interfere with learning. The aim of this study was to find out the relationship between smartphone addiction and student achievement in nursing student. Method : This study use a correlation study with cross sectional approach. This study was conducted on April 2019 at University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The number of samples in this study were 220 nursing students taken with proportionate stratified random sampling. The research instrument is Smartphone Addiction Scale questionnaire. Spearman rank used to analyze the data. Result : Based on the spearman rank using SPSS program, the value of correlation coefficient number is -0.0163 with significancy level of 0.015 (ρ < 0.05), the Sig. (2-tailed) < significance level (α) and can be conclude that H1 is accepted, which mean that there is a relationship between smartphone addiction and student achievement. Conclusion : The result showed that there is a relationship between smartphone addiction and student achievement in nursing students
