STRATEGI KELUARGA DALAM MERAWAT PASIEN DENGAN SKIZOFRENIA F20.1

Background : Mental health is an important aspect of an individual in getting a decent quality of life, so that someone contributes to himself and others, but if someone's mental condition is disturbed or referred to as a mental disorder then the quality of life of an individual will also be disrupted. Schizophrenia has a disease that affects the brain that causes the emergence of thoughts, perceptions, emotions, movements, and disturbed strange behavior. The role of the family in the recovery program in patients with schizophrenia includes inpatient and outpatient programs. In the outpatient program it is intended to carry out routine control and take medication routinely according to the doctor's recommendations so that there is no recurrence and get a good quality of life, but to achieve these objectives requires adherence to run the program. To maintain compliance requires family support and motivation from patients. This purpose of this study is to determine the role of the family in treating schizophrenic patients F20.1. This research method uses qualitative methods with a case study approach, data collection methods using purposive sampling method using interview, observation, and documentation techniques. Samples taken as many as three respondents were used as sources, namely two family members and one schizophrenic patient in the Malang Bandulan region. The results of the study found that patients undergoing outpatient care, adhere to all medication programs and families care about patient education going forward. Discussion of the results of this study can be concluded that the family in the treatment strategy of caring for children with schizophrenia is very supportive, so families can minimize recurrence in children with schizophrenia
