This thesis originates from disquieting questions about the way the subject is established as the author and the reader. Therefore it aims to analyze how the VLA (Virtual Learning Space) enables graduate students to be subject authors and readers, taking into account the specificities of cyberspace and whether this space contributes to the development of copyright and reading practices. The cyberspace and the distance education are then considered. The analyzed platform is the Virtual Learning Space - VLS - from the Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina.
