Over the past decade, the development of novel nanostructured architectures has raised increasing interest within the scientific community in order to meet the demand for low-cost and efficient functional devices composed of abundant and non-toxic materials. A promising path is to use ZnO nanowires grown by chemical bath deposition as building blocks for these next generation functional devices.
