Peran Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata dalam Melestarikan Kesenian Tari Gandrung di Desa Adat Kemiren Kecamatan Glagah Kabupaten Banyuwangi

This study aims to describe: a) The role of the Office of Culture and Tourism in preserving Gandrung Dance art, b) The Inhibiting Factor of the Culture and Tourism Office in the preservation of Gandrung Dance This study uses descriptive qualitative methods and data collection techniques using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The subjects of this study were the Banyuwangi District Culture and Tourism Office, The techniques used in data analysis are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The data validity technique used is to extend observation time, increase persistence, triangulation, and also use reference material. The results of the study include: a) The role of the Banyuwangi Regency Culture and Tourism Office is responsible for preserving the Gandrung Dance art which is the icon of Banyuwangi District, conducted by the Banyuwangi District Culture and Tourism Service is by carrying out in accordance with the main tasks and functions of being a motivator, dynamist and facilitator, especially with the holding of the Gandrung Sewu festival, b) society participation in the form of support for roles carried out by the Banyuwangi District Culture and Tourism Office by watching and participating in promoting Gandrung Dance on personal social media, c) The inhibiting factor in preserving Gandrung Dance is still a culture of drunkenness carried out by spectators and self-interested promoters in addition there are also groups of people who reject the existence of Gandrung Dance art
