The Directive on the use of Passenger Name Record data for the prevention, detection, investigation and prosecution of terrorist offences and serious crime (PNR) is on the EU’s agenda since 2011 when the original proposal was presented but was rejected by the Parliament’s Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee (LIBE) in 2013.
