Ravenna represented an important administrative, commercial and cultural centre in the 5th and 6th century. The study aims to explore the commercial mechanism of Ravenna in Late Antiquity from the point of view of marble trade and trade with architectural elements. This research is based on archaeometric and quantitative studies of stone material from the late antique and medieval complex of San Severo in Classe (Ravenna).
