The article aims to investigate the role of the 9/11 Memorial and Musuem in New York in constructing, transmitting, and defining a collective memory of the event it wants to commemorate. In particular, the specific ‘rewriting’ of the event of 9/11 that the Memorial contributes to shape is iproblematized, thorugh an analysis of the Memorial itself
