Different types of companies are strongly involved in pursuing corporate social responsibility (CSR) objectives: a) maximizing the creation of shared value for their owners/shareholders and for their other stakeholders and society at large; and b) identifying, preventing and mitigating their possible adverse impacts (EU, 2011, p. 6, A Modern Understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility).
