BACKGROUND: Fibrinogen levels are reported to be elevated in hypertensive patients and tend to cluster with nearly all other established cardiovascular risk factors. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between plasma fibrinogen and a number of other cardiovascular risk factors in patients with essential hypertension. METHODS: We studied 118 men with essential hypertension, aged 18-65 years.
