Giovenale 15: il primitivismo degli Egiziani e Lucrezio

This article focuses on the literary background which shaped the characterization of the Egyptians in Juvenal\u2019s 15th satire, particularly with regards to Lucretius\u2019 model. The textual analysis reveals how the satire was directly influenced by Lucretius\u2019 description of primitive men (Lucr. 5, 925 ff.), which was interwoven with other literary models in order to satirically enhance the primitive traits of a barbaric people contemporary of the poet.Nell\u2019articolo viene preso in esame il materiale letterario che ha influenzato la caratterizzazione degli Egiziani nella satira 15 di Giovenale, in particolare con riferimento al modello di Lucrezio.
