The effect of selenium on the growth of Spirulina platensis (Nords.) in batch and quasicontinuous cultures

Data concerning the influence of different concentrations of sodium selenite on Spirulina platensis growth characteristics are reported. It was shown that within the range from 1 to 20 mg Se(IV) / l mean productivity and specific growth rate in batch and quasicontinuous cultures were not decreased with reference to control. Stimulative effect of selenium in concentrations of 5 and 10 mg/l was observed. The positive correlation between selenium concentration in nutrient medium and microalgae biomass was established.Приводятся данные о влиянии различных концентраций селенита натрия на ростовые характеристики синезеленой микроводоросли Spirulina platensis. Показано, что в диапазоне концентраций 1-20 мг Se (IV)/л средняя продуктивность и удельная скорость роста водорослей, как в накопительной, так и в квазинепрерывной культурах, не снижались по отношению к контролю, а концентрации 5 и 10 мг/л оказывали стимулирующее действие.
