Changes of the liver indices in squid Sthenoteuthis oualaniensis (Lesson) from the Indian Ocean tropical zone under experimental conditions

A decrease in the liver mass from 4.3 to 2.3% is observed for the first five hours when keeping adult Sthenoteuthis oualaniensis under aquarium conditions (up to 20 h). This is connected with the energy substances expenditure. The calculations of the metabolism lever showed that the upper bound of the Sthenoteuthis oualaniensis diet expressed in wet mass may account for 9-12% of the body mass, in dry weight — 10-13% and in calories 12-15% of the energy equivalent of the Sthenoteuthis oualaniensis body.В процессе содержания кальмаров (до 20 ч) в аквариальных условиях в течение первых пяти часов происходит резкое падение массы печени с 4,3 до 2,3%, далее темп ее снижения замедляется и после 9—11 часов стабилизируется.
