The «Sanctuary of Artemis Paralia » in Kition (present Larnaca, Cyprus) is primarily renowned for the spot where hundreds of terracottas of the «Greek Classical » type were discovered in the late 19th century. Today preserved in prestigious collections around the world, those figurines – mainly representing a seated goddess wearing vegetal attributes, sometimes coupled with young children – have never been part of an extended research including all archaeological material which is constituting the starting point of my ongoing PhD thesis. The exact location of the original deposits cleared out between 1864 and 1870 is subject to different assumptions. With the support of original archives and personal field observations, this paper suggests however, that the place determined by the most frequently followed topographical study edited by Kyriakos Nicolaou in 1976 is partially mistaken.Maillard Pauline.
