The «Sanctuary of Artemis Paralia » in Kition (present Larnaca, Cyprus) is primarily renowned for the spot where hundreds of terracottas of the «Greek Classical » type were discovered in the late 19th century. Today preserved in prestigious collections around the world, those figurines – mainly representing a seated goddess wearing vegetal attributes, sometimes coupled with young children – have never been part of an extended research including all archaeological material which is constituting the starting point of my ongoing PhD thesis.
