Ghost-rock karstification of a gallery with river deposits (quarry of Gauthier-Wincqz, Soignies, Belgium). The Gauthier-Wincqz quarry extracts a crinoidal limestone of the Upper Tournaisian (Soignies Formation) located under the Malon-Fontaine Formation, constituted by micritic limestones with siliceous black cherts. The extraction of this quarry goes below the local waterlevel and has led to the discovery of many paleokarstic features within the limestone bedrock, essentially ghost-rocks, but also decametric lenses that contain river deposits (pebbles, sands).
