Representasi Rasisme dalam Film Get Out (Studi Semiotika Rasisme dalam Film Get Out)

Many messages can be carried by a film media, one of which is the message of racism. "Get Out" is a film that demonstrates human racist behavior that is still developing today. The film recounts the experience of a black man named Criss who carried the burden of the history of his ancestors and was forced to accept a form of modern racism beyond his imagination. This research was conducted to represent the forms of racism in the film. The researcher used a qualitative descriptive research method by conducting a thorough observation of the object of the research, namely the image (visual image) and dialogue (audio) which describes the value of racism. The collected data is then analyzed using Roland Barthes's semiotic method, which consists of the order of denotations, connotations and myths. The results showed that there were three forms of representation of racism in the film "Get Out". First, black prejudice to white people. Second, discrimination against blacks. And the third is a change in the value of racism against blacks
