En Inde, les sex-ratios diminuent régulièrement depuis 1901. L’infanticide des filles et l’avortement sélectif des embryons femelles sont deux des pratiques qui expliquent ces résultats. En effet, dans la société patriarcale indienne, les filles ne sont pas désirées car elles représentent tout au long de leur vie un fardeau socio-économique pour leurs parents. Nous conduisons ici une étude spatiale à différentes échelles du Sud de l’Inde, afin de cartographier les anomalies du sex-ratio infanto-juvénile, qui dénotent d’importantes variations dans les comportements discriminatoires en particulier dans l’État du Tamil Nadu.
