Au vu du regain d’intérêt pour les formes poétiques depuis la Renaissance jusqu’à aujourd’hui, le sonnet devient à nouveau un objet d’étude critique. Cet article esquisse les diverses manières qu’ont les poètes britanniques contemporains d’envisager ou de s’approprier la forme sonnet, à la fois dans la poésie traditionnelle, dite mainstream, ou dans la poésie d’avant-garde. Après avoir passé en revue les différents enjeux historiques et contemporains de la forme, cette étude se penche sur trois manières d’écrire le sonnet, que l’on retrouve dans les deux formes de poésie britannique à l’heure actuelle : le sonnet parodique ou auto-reflexif, le sonnet comme processus d’écriture et enfin le sonnet en traduction.With the revival of interest in...
