During the early part of the summer of 1914 a butterfly was observed around the writer\u27s home, which was identified at the time as Basilarchia arthemis. As there seems to be no previous record of this butterfly having been collected in Iowa a brief note, recording the fact, might not be out of place and might be of interest to students of the Lepidoptera of Iowa
