Banded Waterfowl Recovered in Iowa (1948-1951)

Waterfowl banded throughout continental North America have been recovered in Iowa. The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, via the Bird-Banding Office, Pautuxent, Maryland, has supplied the State Conservation Commission with 340 waterfowl recoveries reported from Iowa since 1948. These recoveries represented 256 mallards (Figure 1), 26 pintails, 15 blue-winged teal, and 11 black ducks. Ten other species of ducks were represented by only 25 recoveries.
