Waterfowl banded throughout continental North America have been recovered in Iowa. The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, via the Bird-Banding Office, Pautuxent, Maryland, has supplied the State Conservation Commission with 340 waterfowl recoveries reported from Iowa since 1948. These recoveries represented 256 mallards (Figure 1), 26 pintails, 15 blue-winged teal, and 11 black ducks. Ten other species of ducks were represented by only 25 recoveries. Six Canada geese and one coot complete the. list of waterfowl recoveries in this report
