I’d like to present a few notes on the role of the work of schools of architecture, in teaching but most of all in research, considering recent evolution and in my humble opinion, both from the inside and from the outside: it may be a bold pretension, but I hope it will also serve to cast some light. I think the school pursues a solid grounding of knowledge of architecture in order to strengthen what are sometimes regarded as adjacent or parallel fields such as urbanism or landscape, which serve to offer further dimensions and arguments to architecture which is, in short, the unifying basis of the field.
