Arte contemporáneo, arteBA y el efecto de aura

The more extended way of circulation of art in current days is the production of exhibitions and cultural events. The art scene develops around the conformation of views about the most diverse works and themes and, at the same time, within the orbit of a market that’s more transnational and dislocated every day. It’s a double movement that allows both the proliferation and hybridization of the most diverse forms of production, and the introduction of these products within the mercantile logic. This article will analyze the circulation of Argentinean art during the 26th edition of the art market, arteBA (2017), and will focus on the complexities of the contemporary local art scene. It will question the reach of Walter Benjamin’s definitions about technical reproductibility to affirm the existence of what will be called aura effect in the production and circulation modes of contemporary art.El modo de circulación del arte más extendido en la contemporaneidad es la producción de exhibiciones y eventos culturales. La escena artística se desarrolla alrededor de la conformación de lecturas acerca de las obras y los temas más diversos, y a su vez en la órbita de un mercado que es cada vez más transnacional y deslocalizado. Es un doble movimiento que permite tanto la proliferación e hibridación de las más diversas formas de producción como la introducción de estos productos en la lógica mercantil. Este artículo analizará la circulación del arte argentino durante la edición 26 de la feria arteBA (2017), y abordará las complejidades de la escena artística contemporánea local. Se preguntará por el alcance actual de las definiciones de Walter Benjamin acerca de la reproductibilidad técnica, para afirmar la existencia de lo que se denominará efecto aura en los modos de producción y circulación del arte contemporáneo
