This paper is an evaluative research study which is aimed to investigating the learning styles of students and teachers and whether the teacher�s teaching style matches with the students´ learning styles to determine if learning and motivation are present when there is a crossroad between learning and teaching styles. The focus group asked to participate in this study was selected from a private university in the north coast of Colombia; the group comprised thirty two students who are studying first level English and their teacher. Data was gathered from many different sources. From the information gathered, it was found that the tactile learning style was the most representative.
