Familia y la educación: Una visión hacia el futuro desde la perspectiva de Alvin Toffler

While education was until the twentieth century focused on knowledge of the ancient past, in the XXI century it seems to be that what is required is to look at the future. Toffler taking a pragmatic socio-psychological thesis suggests that the cause that explains who we are and our future is in the “social character”. The current insolvency of education and family is part of the general crisis industrialism and the collapse of all institutions raised by modernity; Toffler provides for new forms of households and educational processes. Postmodernism -or universal cultural Third Wave- brings itself new values, rights and interests that require that education is no longer set in ancient times, but in the future, so the critics as anachronistic way to educate exercised under the model factory. Despite all the rhetoric about the future, our schools look back, into a dying system, rather than forward, where the new society is. All their energies tend to form the “industrial man”, a man prepared to survive in a system that will die before him. The technology of tomorrow requires no million slightly educated, able to work together in infinitely repeated tasks men; men not to accept orders without blinking; but able men of critical thinking, to break into new media, new relationships quickly get a reality subject to rapid changes. Illiterate will be who has not learned how to learn permanently.Si bien la educación estuvo hasta el siglo XX centrada en saberes del pasado milenario, en el siglo XXI parece ser que lo que se exige es poner la mirada en el futuro. Asumiendo Toffler una pragmática tesis sociopsicológica plantea que la causa que explica lo que somos y nuestro devenir se halla en el “carácter social”. La actual quiebra de la educación y de la familia forma parte de la crisis general del industrialismo y del derrumbamiento de todas las instituciones levantadas por la modernidad; Toffler prevé nuevas formas de núcleos familiares y de procesos educativos. La posmodernidad -o Tercera Ola cultural universal- trae consigo nuevos valores, derechos e intereses, que exigen que la educación ya no esté fijada en la antigüedad, sino en el futuro, por tanto critica como anacrónica la forma de educar, ejercida bajo el modelo de la fábrica. A pesar de toda la retórica acerca del futuro, nuestras escuelas miran hacia atrás, hacia un sistema moribundo, más que hacia delante, donde está la nueva sociedad. Todas sus energías tienden a formar al “hombre industrial”, un hombre preparado para sobrevivir en un sistema que morirá antes que él. La tecnología de mañana requiere no millones de hombres ligeramente instruidos, capaces de trabajar al unísono en tareas infinitamente repetidas; no hombres que acepten las órdenes sin pestañear; sino hombres capaces de juicio crítico, de abrirse camino en medios nuevos, de contraer rápidamente nuevas relaciones en una realidad sometida a veloces cambios. Analfabeto será quien no ha aprendido a aprender permanentement
