This paper focuses on the study of illustrations in the Fifteenth and Sixteenth-century chapbooks printed in Burgos from the perspective of Biblioiconography or Textual Iconography. In order to discuss the use and function of these images, it is necessary to combine the analysis of the design features of the chap-books with the methodology of physical or analytical bibliography, which provides an exhaustive inventory of the origin, modification and trajectory of the blocks together with information on the woodcuts preserved in the inventories of the Burgos’ printing ateliers.
