Nuevos problemas y oportunidades en el desarrollo industrial de América Latina

Recognizing that economics lacks and adequate theory of economic growth, this aticle raises the following questions. What are the'differences between the current productive structure of Latin America and that of fifteen years ago? Does the new model of social organization of production generate a better or worse factor productivity than the substitution model? What will be the impact of the change in the global incentives regime on the different countries of Latin America? Whnat are the new scenarios of industrial organization and how are agents adapting to the new rules of the game? What chantes have there beenin the organization of labor and the planning of production inindividual firms? Are these changes neutral between factors or they biased towards the relative saving of work or labor? What are the lessons of this process for those countries which have abandoned the socialist regime?Reconociendo que la economía carece de una teoría adecuada del crecimiento económico, el presente artículo aborda las siguientes preguntas. ¿Cuáles son las diferencias esntre la estructura productiva latinoamericana actual y la de hace quince años? ¿El nuevo modelo de organización social de la produccón genera una productividad de los factores mejor o peor que el modelo sustitutivo? ¿Cuál sera el impacto del cambio en el régimen global de incentivos sobre los distintos países de América Latina? ¿Cuales son los nuevos escenarios de organización industrial y en que forma se están adaptando los agentes a las nuevas reglas del juego? ¿Cuáles son los cambios en la organización del trabajo y en la planeación de las firmas individuales? ¿Esos cambios son neutrales entre factores o están sesgados hacia el ahorro relativo de capital o trabajo? ¿Cuáles son las lecciones de este proceso para los países que abandonaron el régimen socialista
